Shipping to: 78837 (Comstock, TX)

When shipping from New York, 78837 is in Zone 7. This zone determines your base carrier rate.

Shipping to 78837 often incurs additional surcharges because carriers classify this area as a Remote Delivery Area. This applies to the following carriers: DHL, FedEx and UPS. Additionally, DHL, FedEx and UPS may apply a holiday or demand surcharge at this time of the year. This charge is usually based on the shipment's tender date, service, package type, destination/address classification, and—in some carrier programs—your shipping volume or contract terms. It is not automatically caused by ZIP 78837.

For a long-distance shipment to 78837 (Zone 7), you can expect 6–7 days delivery on your package going to Comstock for ground shipping (e.g. Fedex Ground), but express delivery (e.g. UPS 2nd Day Air) may be significantly faster.

The surcharge shown for 78837 is the carrier's published delivery-area classification and published holiday or demand surcharge rate for the service and effective date shown on this page. Your carrier agreement may reduce, cap, waive, or otherwise change the amount billed, but it may not change whether the carrier classifies this destination as a delivery-area, extended-area, or remote-area destination. Check your pricing agreement, rate addendum, or invoice detail to confirm the amount that applies to your account. Other charges—such as fuel, residential delivery, peak, address correction, additional handling, or oversize fees—may still apply separately.

Not automatically. "Hold for Pickup" changes the delivery method or final collection point; it does not by itself prove that a delivery-area, extended-area, remote-area, residential, fuel, peak, or other surcharge will be removed. Whether a charge changes depends on the carrier, service, origin, original delivery address, selected pickup location, timing of the request, and your negotiated agreement. Confirm the total charge in the carrier's rating tool, shipping label quote, or invoice before treating pickup as a cost-saving option.

To verify a surcharge, match the invoice charge to the individual shipment record—not only to the invoice total. Confirm the carrier, service, ship date, recipient ZIP code, address type, package details, shipment identifier, and the exact surcharge description or charge code. If the invoice includes both a holiday/demand charge and a delivery-area, extended-area, remote-area, residential, or fuel charge, those are normally separate line items and should be reviewed independently. Then compare the charge with the carrier's published rate guide or your negotiated pricing agreement that was effective on the ship date. If 78837 was not listed for the applicable surcharge, the service was rated incorrectly, the amount does not match your contract, or the charge was duplicated, retain the shipment and invoice evidence and submit a dispute through the carrier's billing process.
